We take our responsibility to help and uplift others very seriously. Ayavelisa Consulting’s success and resources are, to some extent, the community’s future and hope. Our corporate social responsibility and social development approach is designed to be simple, yet impactful. We are careful that we choose projects, not only to tick a box on our corporate profile, but to play an integral role in making a difference.
Whether we provide assistance to budding SMME’s through our enterprise development programme or we offer our services to community upliftment programmes, our primary aim is to ensure that we leave a lasting legacy.
For this meaningful project, Ayavelisa worked together with Alpha Omega Youth Outreach. This organisation reaches out to young offenders as part of a rehabilitation programme and fights crime and drug abuse amongst the youth of the Eastern Cape. In 2014, we embarked on a mission to build a day-care centre for the children of Ducats, East London. The day-care centre was completed in 2017 and was officially opened by the then Minister of Social Development, Min. Bathabile Dlamini. On completion, Siyakha Day Care Centre cost R3 million. We partnered with Alpha Omega to provide free quantity surveying and costing services to this worthwhile initiative. The centre, complete with kitchen and nutrition facilities, caters for 90 children. This means that dozens of families in this community benefit from the care of their children and the necessary amenities, ensuring that their little ones are safe, well fed and stimulated in a positive environment. Ayavelisa also assisted Alpha Omega Youth Outreach with the sourcing of sponsorships from other local businesses. “Being part of such an initiative has changed how we as a business view corporate social responsibility. Indeed, sometimes, just giving money alone is not enough. By being part of this project pro bono, we have become part of the social movement that is redefining the future of the South African child. Ayavelisa partnered with Grace Community Baptist Church in Cambridge East, East London, by facilitating and co-funding the completion of the church building that had been incomplete for more than five years.
